Noodles are a popular food all over the world, with a wide range of flavours and preparation methods. Every region has its own unique flavours and methods of cooking noodles. The recipe we will be addressing is Udon noodles, which are a popular comfort food in Japan. It can be cooked with various soups to create tasty dishes.

Here is the recipe to make Udon noodles at home:

Ingredients (Serves 4)

300 gms Maida

8 gms Gluten powder

145 gms Water

12 gms Salt

Additional item- Plastic bag

The recipe’s steps are listed below:

  1. Mix maida and gluten powder in a bowl.
  2. Add salt to the water and stir it. Slowly pour water into the maida mixture.
  3. The dough should be well kneaded. To make kneading easier, place the dough in a plastic bag and press down on it.
  4. Leave the dough in a plastic bag for an hour. 
  5. After an hour, take out the dough. Spread maida on a roller board. 
  6. Flatten the dough and try to shape it into a square. 
  7. Fold it into 3 or 4 turns and slice it into noodles.
  8. Boil the noodles in water for a few minutes until it gets firm. Usually it takes 5-6 minutes.
  9. Serve it with your favourite soup and toppings and enjoy its delicacy.
